BURK'S FINALLY RIGHT ABOUT SOMETHING

Burk's Blast dated 7/2. Finally something we agree on. Safety should be a first and I really don't see why anyone would regect wearing a fire retardent suit. However I guess it is kinda like wearing seat belts. Some people just refused to wear them no matter what statistics show about saving lives.

Good article.

FORD FAN FINDS FAULT

I hate to correct anyone when I screw up as much as I do, however, in your picture of Bruce Larson and his Cobra, his car is an early model with the 289 cu. in. engine, not the later version with the 427.

Thanks.

BURK IS NOT ALLOWED BACK IN THE STATE OF TEXAS

I can't believe that being an old Texas boy, you don't know that Audie Murphy was a Texan, the son of sharecroppers in Texas. Check it out at Audiemuphy.com. Shame on you.

TRACTION CONTROL 1

The way I see it, traction control will have similar results as delay boxes. It will make average racers more competitive, good racers even better. When everyone has it the same people will still be at the top the fields just a little tighter and the price of racing a little higher. Tight fields mean close races, fans like exciting close racing. Who knows, maybe if the fuel class races are as close as the Pro Stock races, the average Joe will prefer drag racing over NASCAR in the future.

Just a thought.

TRACTION CONTROL 2

Drag racing is all about acceleration and traction is mucho important in achieving this goal. I race at my local track in my street car and attend the Gatornationals every year to watch the pro's and I think by having traction control it would only enhance the racing by giving spectators a good possibility of having a side by side race most of the time compared to only a handful of races now. I also think that oildowns would be minimized by not over-revving the engines by losing traction, thus decreasing down time.
