PRO MODS ON NITRO

The Pro Mod class may be doomed at NHRA events for now, but if they dump out the alcohol and replace it with nitro, then they have something to market. I don't know about the rest of you but I would pay big bucks to see a 16-car field of Nitro Pro Mods. Now how cool is that!!!!!!!

PRO MODS WITH NITROUS

I used to think that Pro Mod was the coolest class out there. That is until it turned into the Alky Funny Car with doors race. I think it lost all of its appeal when the blowers came into the fray. I would much rather see the nitrous cars blowing big ole flames outta the headers. I remember all of the stages of nitrous and the push systems they were running. I think if they went back to the old body styles and nitrous-only it coulD come back to be a fan favorite again. I don't like the fact that all the cars have turned into working door alky funnies!

Bring back the nitrous-only Pro Mods.

NOTE: Both Mike and Beriah may want to check out the Nitro Coupe class at Super Chevy Shows, which is basically Pro Mods on nitro. Also, the ADRL's Pro Nitrous class is for nitrous-aided Pro Mods only and their Pro Extreme class allows nitro, turbos, superchargers or nitrous injection. DRO covered both series this year and will again in 2006. -- Ed.

NOSTALGIA PRO MODS?

I, for one, would much rather have Pro Mods in NHRA than the Pro Stock Motorcycles. Nothing personal against the bikes, but given the choice I'd rather see full-bodied cars. Having said that, I prefer the older (pre-1975) body styles (Chip King's Daytona, for example) to the newer (Jay Payne's Pro Stock Stratus w/ a blower) body styles.

Unfortunately, however, the NHRA is not a democracy with elected officials, so our voice doesn't matter. I say that because I don't think I'm alone in my opinion and if NHRA was listening they might have a different view.

PRO MODS ARE FUN

NHRA used to be a good organization several years ago, but today the people that run it are greedy, arrogant, don't have a clue about what drag racing is about, and need to step down and let people that know racing take over. Myself and several thousand fans would rather see Pro Mods race than Top Fuel any day, at least they are not as predictable and a hell of a lot more fun to watch. Anyway that's my opinion and like they say everybody's got one.
