Ron Lewis’ Photo Album

The DRO senior photographer usually takes about 10,000 images per event. We ask him to send us a selection of his best and we pick a few of them for what we call Ron Lewis’s photo album. These photos are from the NHRA race at Houston. Although we think his best image from that race was the shot of current NHRA funny car points leader Ron Capps that we previously ran on the cover, we found a few more we liked. The next assignment for Lewis is at Las Vegas and we hope we get show girls and neon as well as race cars.

Bob Vandergriff’s UPS-backed fueler is starting to show some progress.
Wayne Dupuy is back from his off-season crash and has the Snap-on dragster haulin’.
We think this is Texas Top Fuel racer Bill Ancona.
Gene Snow is back in AFD competition, but not in the seat. New driver Spencer Massey was in the seat at Houston.
After a scare from a heart hiccup, Pro Mod racer Shannon Jenkins is back but he isn’t going fast yet.
