Just Wondering… After the Lucas Oil company’s acquisition of the MavTv organization, can we expect a wide variety of auto racing series and venues to get covered and broadcast? The answer is yes, and some significant events and venues that up to now have been ignored will be getting national exposure. And I think Lucas Oil has the assets and talent to give the ESPN2 some serious competition.

Just Wondering… I’m looking at the label of a name brand toilet bowl cleaner and it has in big letters “now with Teflon.” I know that adding Teflon is good for racing parts and frying pans, but why does adding Teflon to a toilet bowl cleaner make it work better? Think about it for a minute.

Just Wondering… Wonder what the odds are on Cadillac backing someone to build either a Pro Stock or a Super Stock version of their two-door CTS model that comes with a 550-hp engine and a six-speed manual trans? Sounds like a Factory Hot Rod to me.

Just Wondering… Why doesn’t GM do some special PR with the LSX-exclusive race that the NMCA puts on every year? The racers and fans of that class are the performance car customers, fans and future racers that Chevy and the sport need.

Just Wondering… if the ADRL management team will make an official announcement to fans at their final race of the season at the Texas Motorplex this weekend concerning the series returning for the 2012 season? If they do, I’d bet my house that it will be radically different from what it is now, with the biggest difference being that fans will have to pay for parking and to buy a ticket to get into the races.

Just Wondering… Was the way the qualifying and racing went down at Phoenix what we might come to expect at a lot more NHRA races if they start backing off the uber track prep they do now? Let’s review: some budget teams made the show and some teams with no budget and the best parts didn’t qualify, but the premier drivers and teams still ended up in the winner’s circle.

Just Wondering… How can it be? There is an independent bracket race held every year where the winner could possibly win a million dollars and it doesn’t have a money sponsor? Yet, in its 60th year of racing pro cars, the NHRA, which boasts of being the largest autoracing sanctioning body in the world, still doesn’t have a race where the winner is guaranteed to be paid $250,000!

Just Wondering… Did you know that for the first time, the NHRA decided to bring a lot of their Midway advertisers’ big rigs to the Bakersfield Hot Rod Reunion? Could the reason be that those “Big Show” advertisers are not getting the traffic they need at the Full Throttle events?

Just Wondering…  Considering the drop in attendance the NHRA has seen at some Full Throttle races this year (such as Phoenix), if the California Hot Rod Reunion at Bakersfield this coming weekend were to have capacity crowds all three days, would the NHRA suits start thinking about making that race a national event for the Heritage Series racers and add one more event where they don’t have to split the gate?

Just Wondering… What was I waiting for? After having trouble with seeing at night andblurry vision (and after abstinence from any recreational substances didn’t make it better), I went to theeye doctor and wasdiagnosedwith cataracts in all eyes. I had the first oneremoved a couple ofweeks ago. What a difference it has made andit didn’t hurt a bit. I wonder if this will help me seeing what the future holds?
