Chillin’ with the USAF

Just read your column. I spent four years in the Air Force, yes SAC, Sadistic Air Command as you know! Busted my you-know-what at Castle AFB, for training on the B-52s and tankers, six days a week, twelve hours a day, next stop Utapao, same, only 7-7 nights. MY REWARD! Loring, Maine! Yeah, I reenlist, only if I don’t wake up from this nightmare! Worked in 48° chill factor!

Anyway, thanks for a great website. Just read about the NHRA Pro Mod, Get Screened deal. Dang, I love those Pro Mods! Now what? ADRL is great, but I hate the 1/8th deal. 1000 foot would be great!

Enjoyed your last Burk's Blast. Grew up in OKC and raced a fuel car at Amarillo many times. Back to the point, when I climbed the fence during the US Nat's in OKC I decided that when I grew up I was going to have a hot rod. Later I found you couldn't do both. Now at 67 I have a street legal full tube frame ‘63 Nova and a ‘37 Ford coupe street rod.

I need to find out the address of the little gray-haired lady. Haven't had a good finger-pointing ass chewing since my mom died. My wife knows it's a waste of time and energy. 

I don't always agree with you, but I enjoy reading your opinions and they make me think and look from a different perspective. Keep up the good work.
