Feeling renewed after World Series of Drag Racing

I have been a drag racing fan since my first race when I was 10 years old and saw the Little Red Wagon at Flightland drag strip north of Omaha in 1968.  I hadn't missed an NHRA national event from 1983 until 2009.  Many times I attended several events a year. When the cost of attendance became too high, I reluctantly stopped going.

Thanks to DragRacingOnline and your support to the DRO funny car series, I jumped into the car and drove to Cordova last weekend and had a blast! My wife and I enjoyed the whole experience at the World Series of Drag Racing. The racing, the food, the atmosphere, the entire show was outstanding.

We are already planning trips next summer to Kansas City and back to Cordova.

Thanks so much.

Wonder no more with a couple of answers

Here's a couple of answers for you from a racer, not a Monday morning quarterback.

“Just Wondering… Is it just a matter of time before we see the number of NHRA divisional races drop from five in most divisions to two or three?”

Answer: There are currently six divisional races in each of the seven divisions.  Attendance is down at most events, but attendance is down at everything, not just drag racing.

“Just Wondering… With almost all of the major automotive manufacturers (both foreign and American) selling cars off the showroom floor that advertise 300-450 hp engines why doesn’t the NHRA or the NMRA/NMCA or the IHRA have absolutely  “showroom stock” classes for these cars?”

Answer: IHRA has had a Pure Stock class within Stock Eliminator for many, many years. Unfortunately, the Pure Stockers are few and far between.
