Just Wondering... What will be the NHRA legal team's reaction when nitro cars start going over 300 mph in the eighth mile? It won't be long before that is fact.

Just Wondering... Wouldn't it be cool if when the NHRA introduces the new Pro Stock rules they included one that made it mandatory that Pro Stockers had to pull the wheels up on the leave? Even better would be the Kepner rule: No Wheelie Bars!

Just Wondering... One more time: Since the NHRA seems determined to go to all "live" TV broadcasts for all their national events, why not eliminate one round of qualifying on Saturday night and replace it with the first round of eliminations for nitro cars? Three rounds are much easier to fit into a three-hour timeframe than four … and safer too.

Just Wondering... Why would former NHRA prez Tom Compton make an appearance at an NHRA national event after he had "resigned" from the presidency? Very strange.

Just Wondering... How many more national event races with way too many unsold tickets will the NHRA and the track operators put up with before the knuckleheads figure out that the price of tickets are too high for the average drag racing fan? Even with perfect weather at E-town, Joliet, Norwalk, and Epping the crowds were way down compared to NHRA's heyday.

Just Wondering... Some of the Jr. Dragster drivers I've seen are killers on the tree. Instead of racing against each other why not let Jr. Dragster drivers compete in weekly bracket racing events?

Just Wondering... Why does the NHRA, who promotes three of the most successful Nostalgia drag races in the world through the Museum, pay so little attention to their Heritage Series and its racers?

Just Wondering... When is the IHRA going to quite calling a booked four-car jet show a professional catagory? Wasn't that what the old IHRA did when they had a two Top Fuel car field for a year and named one a "World Champion"

Just Wondering... Did you know that some of the HHR races charge the nostalgia nitro racers almost as much to enter the race as thy pay the winners? One racer (who asked to remain anonymous for obvious reasons) showed me where he had to pay $1,800 in entry fees and his check for finishing very well in the race was just $600 more than pit pass/parking cost for car, driver and crew. Unbelievable!
