I am totally disenchanted with Funny Car. They have gone beyond "funny" to just plane stupid looking. Actually the entire pro classes are cookie cutter looking.

I'm not a fan of 1,000-foot racing either. I can't explain it, but the drags have become corporate and sterile. The Pro Mods don't race at Topeka and that pisses me off. I'm not a fan of pro stock bikes. Shrinking fields with very little qualifying "drama" doesn't help.

Try this one: I've outgrown drag racing (in age that is). Fortunately/unfortunately I grew up with the glory days of drag racing. That's what I remember, that's what I love.

Now I long for those days and the only way to even come close is to attend a "nostalgia" race/event. The regular NHRA big shows just can't get me all the way to my past. Yes, I still love drag racing but street car shootouts, Street Outlaws, the Meltdown Drags, nostalgia events, etc. keep me going. I live in the Kansas City metro and we have to travel quite a way to see these types of shows.

It's hard to explain. Maybe a couple of nitro floppers on a back street....

Thanks,

Brad Wise

The reasns I no longer attend national events are:

1. Excessive prices to park my motorhome on site.

2. The total disregard shown to sportsman and Pro Stock Cars and Motorcycles.

Comp Eliminators payout structure will surely doom this class by the end of this season. Comp, Super Stock, Stock and Pro Stock are the classes most of NHRA's core members and fans are interested in. One day the NHRA will realize that the decreased car counts in all classes is a by-product of the purse structures, entry fees and general disrespect shown to non-nitro entries has directly lead to empty seats.

As an aside, while I HATE THE FOUR-WIDES, Bruton Smith is one of the few positives currently associated with NHRA Drag Racing.

This is from someone that has attended every national event except Sonoma, Seattle, and New Hampshire.

There is no more excitement any more. For what it costs to go and see a live event, I can't afford it. All the big show classes are just boring; you watch the same 16 teams run and most of them are from the same owner.

I do go to the nostalgia races as there is way more excitement at them. The fuel classes are better racing and all of the other lower classes are fun to watch.

By the way, I stopped only two years ago.
