We’re still getting letters about why fans no longer attend NHRA national events.

I love it, been following since I was 12 years old. My older brother knew the boys from Gor-Den automotive. You might even know someone named Jim Oddy 😀who worked there.

It’s turning into DSR versus smaller teams.

The first year that the Spring Nationals came to National Trail Raceway I was there, I only missed 3 years and that was when I was in the Service.

I started taking my grandson there to enjoy the racing with me; life don't get better than that.

I watched as NHRA took over the Track from the Raider Family and put all kinds of money into improvements to the facility. Don't get me wrong the Raider brothers put on a great show before the NHRA purchase.

Just to have the NHRA turn around a couple of years later and move the race to Norwalk. I have not and will not go to Norwalk or back to the US Nationals.

Me and the grandson still go to other events at NTR like the Mopars National.

Oh, I almost forgot, the 1,000 foot sucks too.

Thanks for asking

1. The first reason is the same as reported, the actual event is much too expensive!! There are not enough cars to complete a full field. There no interest in following the little guys anymore, mainly because there are no more little guys! The qualifying program is all based on the big teams, who have lots of money and more equipment than all the little players combined! Not interesting anymore! And truly not equal to the price of the tickets, lodging cost, parking and the cost of food!!

2. 1,000 foot racing!

3. Cost of the merchandise is WAY TOO expensive!

4. Better entertain options!

  • Too expensive
  • Lousy creature comforts
  • Lousy expensive food with long lines
  • slow show
  • shirt fields
  • terrible announcing
  • lousy public address systems
  • high parking fees where parking was free
  • teams that are elitists in the pits
  • cars with no identity
  • just generally sucks.
