Getting ready for the Big Go takes a lot of work. Here is some of what goes on in the pit area.


David Rampy gets a different angle on working on his WHATEVER.	John Force’s Bob Tasca Ford Mustang body.	Todd Veney, son of veteran tuner Ken Veney, warms up his Alky Funny Car.

Domenic Paris’s Top Fuel dragster features two engines.	Tom Conway tunes this Top Alcohol Dragster.	Besides watching the racers and crew work, fans can check out many displays. Here a couple take on the Harley-Davidson simulator.

On Thursday, the rain was the story, cutting short the qualifying. The Super Comp racers try to wait it out.	The rain kept up, leaving the skyline of Indianapolis shrouded in mystery. What would the morrow bring?
