“It’s a great feeling to finally get my hands on one of these Eagles (event trophy). I’ve spent too much time in the winner’s circle handing them out. Now, they get to hand one to me – it’s great.”

The speaker was an ecstatic Tim Tindle (above) after his first AMS Pro Mod Challenge event win. It was a special win because his company, Tindle Enterprises, Inc. was the presenting sponsor of the event at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. Tindle was able to knock off Joshua Hernandez, who has been dominating the series this year, in the semifinals with a 6.034/236.96 holeshot victory over the 6.032/243.59 for Hernandez. It was the only round that Hernandez has lost this year and the only time all weekend that the Dr. Moon’s Rage ’68 Camaro didn’t run in the 5’s.

“It had to happen at some point,” Hernandez said. “Tim got me on the tree, and they had that car really tuned up for the track. It was a close race, that’s for sure – great for the fans.”

Hernandez retains a commanding lead on the points with 2,562 to second-place Raymond Commisso’s 1,566.

In the other semifinal pairing, Commisso took a wild ride with Jay Payne in the other lane. The R2Bs Motors-sponsored Camaro got squirrelly and crossed the centerline, hitting the 660-foot marker and the 1320-foot speed cones before coming to a stop. Commisso had qualified in the No. 3 position, coming oh-so-close to a 5-second ET with a 6.003.
