FALL THROWDOWN

Small Block Shootout

The Outlaw Small Block Association (OSBA) returned to Virginia Motorsports Park, Dinwiddie, Va. for two days of racing at the racetrack’s Fall Throwdown on November 1st and 2nd. This was the last race of the inaugural season for the OSBA and it ended on a high note. Because of a rainout in September two separate races were run, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday. This gave racers battling for points an opportunity to continue their quest at winning the first OSBA series championships.  The weather was perfect and the racing action was fierce as the all small block field squared off to do battle.

This race attracted several new racers in addition to racers that had competed before. "One thing for certain," stated Bill Harris, OSBA President, “these racers came locked and loaded to send a message and they did just that!” These small displacement engines put on one heck of a show and if you like good heads up drag racing and weren’t there, you missed a good one. Most of the racers said it was an all around good time and they will be back to run the series next year. The amount of diversity was unreal… there were super pro cars, street cars, comp eliminator, super gas, super comp, big tires, little tires and drag radials cars all under one roof. The OSBA continues to bring in all types of small block racers to create excitement for our racers, fans and sponsors. You can expect even more excitement in 2009. We will be adding some Heads Up ET Index Brackets to our program… Stay tuned! www.osbadrag.com
