Saturday’s race saw Merv Moyer Jr. of Annville, Pa. grabbed the number 1 qualifying spot convincingly with a 7.383 @ 185.59 in the 04 Mustang backed by G-Force Transmissions. Mark Lineberrier of Liberty, NC was number 2 qualifier in his 02 Gran Am recording a 7.456 @ 181.28.
Point’s leader, Thomas Miller of Nottingham, Pa. in his 99 Chevy S-10 qualified in the 3rd position with a 7.498 @ 180.72. Doc Bibrey of Willow Springs, NC was Number 4 in his 93 Dodge Daytona running 7.626 @ 176.70. Thomas Miller met Merv Moyer in the finals with Miller taking the win with a 7.599 @ 178.31. Moyer had a chute deploy and fouled at the starting line.
Sunday’s finals were a repeat of Saturday with Miller and Moyer meeting to do battle. This time Moyer took the win light recording a 7.401 @ 185.79 to millers 7.602 @ 178.87. Miller still held on to his points lead and was crowned the 2008 champion of Class C/1.
