Jefferson City, Missouri, racer Mark Micke drove his ’67 Camaro to a win over the quickest Pro Street field in NMCA history. He didn’t have to work too hard for his first win, though, as Steve King had problems in the final and Micke’s 6.454/217.75 easily had him covered.

NMCA at Bradenton

The National Muscle Car Association has plenty of classes and there were plenty of cars in attendance at the Muscle Car Nationals held March 28-30 at Bradenton, Florida.

The Pro Street 16-car field had entrants from the eastern half of the country ranging from New York to Minnesota to Kansas to Florida.

Steve Miller brought his ’99 turbocharged 427-powered Chevy S-10 from Buffalo, Minnesota. He qualified #7 with a 6.539/226.47 and made it to the semi-final round, where he was eliminated by Steve King.

Steve King brought out the replacement for his venerable Viper: a ’68 Camaro with a 526 c.i. Hemi. The Strasburg, Virginia, racer qualified at #7 with a 6.476/225.16, and was runner-up in the final round.

Corky Markwart from Pinellas Park, Florida, qualified at #8 with a 6.54/211.41. His ’03 Mustang was out in the second round, thanks to Tony Bischoff.
