Another final that was completed was in Nostalgia Pro Street where small-block racer Joe Bucaro was able to take out defending champion Jim Widener in an exciting final round, becoming the first small-block racer to win in this big-block dominant class. Widener put a .015 reaction on the board, but it wasn’t enough for Bucaro’s killer 7.40-flat pass.

BOTTOM LEFT: In Street Radial, John Macaluso made it to the finals with his nitrous-assisted, 357 c.i. small block Mustang. He topped the field in qualifying with an 8.83 at 153 mph and took out rival Tim Hendricks in a close match-up to get to round 2. Macaluso will face Heath Shemwell in the postponed final that will be held in Bowling Green on May 1-3.

BOTTOM RIGHT: Bob Kurgan made it to the Xtreme Street finals before Spiro Pappas crashed. He will face the new big-block nitrous Trans Am of Aaron Stapleton in Kentucky next month.
