In round two the likable Hairston, who has been rapidly improving each race, laid down another fine pass of 6.371/227.30 while Klann just could not find the right combination this weekend at a 7.004/197.13 mph. Bluebaugh and his team thrashed to find their ignition woes, and he, tuner Debra, and Charles Carpenter put up a game effort as he left on Mihovetz but just didn’t have the horsepower to overcome the 2007 champion, at 6.509/222.00 for Mihovetz and 6.864/208.75 for the WFO crew.
Walker was not to be denied this weekend as in round two he cut the best light of the weekend for the Pros with a .003 Reaction Time to Thyr’s fine .040, but the black RC Construction El Camino blasted the quarter mile to the tune of 6.441/216.31 over a very close Thyr at 6.693/208.46.

In a dead even start, Thornton and Henry both looked fantastic but the big black Vette of Thornton had momentary tire shake and it was all Tim Henry and the Conquest Drilling Pontiac TA at another fine 6.468/218.69 mph to Thornton’s game but losing 6.725/220.55.
It was two singles in the semi’s as both Hairston and Henry experienced internal woes, so Mihovetz kicked out a nice easy 6.430/224.51 while Walker did not just lay down either, putting on a fine show at 6.552 at 214.01 mph
This set the final with the best match up of the afternoon as both cars left dead even with Walker and his crew not to be denied at another fine 6.49/215.41 over Mihovetz and Shane T’s fine effort of 6.59 at 220.69 mph.
ACCUFAB RACING OUTLAW STREET
Eight of the PSCA’s fastest and quickest Outlaw 10.5 cars were on hand at the Strip. San Jose, Calif., native Rich Zehring and his awesome 1970 Nova led the way during qualifying with a fine 6.930/204.91 followed by Greg Seth-Hunter’s 434 small-block powered Chevy Nova at a close 6.972/209.10 that got the Simi Valley, Calif., resident the Top Speed honors
The 2008 reigning champion, Ron Weems drove his Pontiac Grand Am to the #3 position with a 7.020/200.89.
Next up was the Barstow, Calif.-based team of Doug Sikora, with plenty of Jason Pettis Pro-Charged Ford motor under the hood, laying down a 7.055/204.20. Canadian racer Dale Moznik came down to Vegas and ran a stout 7.082/196.30. Rounding out the field were Slim Zeinaty at 7.144/196.13, Lafayette Williams (7.253/198.82), Mike Keenan (7.460/188.57), Kevin Guthrie (7.851/187.33), and Larry at 8.516/190.02.
