(middle right) Of note in the supporting cast was Mark Wolfe in his monster bi-turbo Thunderbird (above) getting the Pro Street pole with a 6.50 with Frank Tamez hot on his heels with a 6.58 in the GTO.
And then in Outlaw 10.5, Kurtis Tamez in the Cavalier sporting a new 673 Sonny's powerplant put a 6.96 up to be number one in qualifying. John Breckenridge got #1 in Top Fuel Harley with a 6.61.
(bottom right) A personal favorite moment of the weekend was Ron Huegli in his “Tiki Warrior” and his dry hops, yep, he was doing dry hops and it was way cool!
And in the IBAA Cory Kincaid put the shoebox Chevy-bodied Funny Car on the top spot by running the closest to the 6.99 index with a 7.03. But without a doubt, the stars of this segment were the Sekura brothers, who laid down side-by-side 1000-foot burnouts. Very cool and a huge fan favorite.
