To start it all off, Randy Kay reset his track and association ET record during the Friday night qualifying session when he blasted to a 6.13. The previous record was a 6.20.

Records were set during the August 14-15 weekend as the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association raced at the “Famous Fox Hunt” event at Sacramento Raceway Park.

What seemed kind of odd was the fact that almost everyone improved on their first qualifying time during the second session on Saturday, in the heat of the day. This second session on Saturday produced the quickest eight-car field in the history of the WCOPMA, having a 6.51 bump spot.

Final qualifying order:
1) Randy Kay - 6.135 at 238.99
2) Rod Burbage - 6.227 at 231.82
3) Scott Bailey - 6.234 at 240.21
