In the first round Burbage (above) got a bye when Housley shut the car off as he was pulling to the water box. Reportedly it was a washer on the burst panel that was broken and kept Housley from running. Number 8 qualifier Diedrich took out top qualifier Kay during a pedalfest.
Henry beat Bailey but experienced a nitrous backfire though the lights, so Bailey took Henry’s place on the ladder per the “break rule”.
Meadors got a lucky break as well when Bunker Jr. (above) went -.222 red but set low ET for the round with a 6.34 while Meadors lost traction and was peddling it to a 6.71.
In the semi-final round, Bailey (above) got yet another lucky break as Burbage had transmission problems once he started the car and was forced to shut off, giving Bailey a bye into the finals. In the other semi-final matchup Meadors beat a peddling Diedrich with a 6.54.
