The final round would set up number 4 qualifier, Meadors, with number 3 qualifier, Bailey. As the tree dropped it seemed like Bailey had some kind of electrical issue that resulted in Bailey moving less than one foot. Meadors had his hands full in the other lane as he was peddling his Camaro to a 6.95 winning lap, it may have been ugly but he got the big “W” on his score board.

“The Goodguys Racing Team keeps growing and growing this year,” Meadors said. “We didn’t have the right tune-up on the car after blowing the transmission in the first round. But I’m working hard on the Tree and it’s paid off. My crew chiefs, Jason Bunker and Jeff Accacian with crewmember Andy Fereira, worked together the best they could to patch it up and get me to the starting line and we prevailed. In racing you have to catch some lucky breaks and today was ours. I’m really proud of the team for our career best ET and speed. We are going to be tough the rest of the year.”

The next race for the WCOPMA will be the Governors Cup during the September 18-19 weekend, held at Sacramento Raceway as well. Visit www.WestCoastOutlawProMods.com for more information about the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association.
