Others making the elimination rounds were Tim Martin of Barrie, Ont., defeated by Kalso, and Jeff Roth of Kitchener, Ont., eliminated by Nielsen.

Boland leads the Championship Point Award Series standings with 1097, while Mark Nielsen is next with 1030. Dave Earhart has 981 points, as does Jason Kalso, for a third-place tie. Joe Boniferro of Niagara Falls, Ont., is fifth with 967 points and Jeff Roth is in sixth with 960 points. Rounding out the top ten are Eric Latino, Ike Maier, Jack Grainy and Tony Piselli.

QUICK 32 SPORTSMAN SERIES

There was a large car count for the third round of the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts, with 20 Top Dragsters and 18 Top Sportsman cars doing battle over the weekend. And at the end of the day, Michael Kalin (above) drove his dragster to an overall Quick 32 Sportsman Series win over the Top Sportsman entry of Dan Aitken Jr of Belle River, Ontario. Kalin ran a winning 4.818-second pass over Aitken’s 4.818.

The Top Dragster final was between Kalin of Youngstown, New York, and John Wiema of Stratford, Ont. Kalin took the victory with a 4.742-second pass over Weima’s 4.654.

In the semis, Kalin defeated Buddy Forrest of Rochester, NY, Tony Positano of Toronto, and number-one qualifier Todd Hope of Norwich, Ont. Weima eliminated Jamie Bridge of Napanee, Ont., Scott Jahren of Tonawanda, NY, and Jim Rubino of Buffalo, NY.
