In Sunday's dash for cash it was Dan Krueger taking home the $5,000 by besting a very tough field with players such as Dan Lafferty, Chris Jaggers, and John Floyd Jr.

In the much-anticipated Firebird Air Show 18 brave souls risked car and limb in an attempt to show the capacity crowd their skills at pulling either the highest and/or longest wheelstand. It appeared that some of the competitors who had a good chance at this were too much up on the chip and instead of the car going up it went straight out.

This was not the case with Jamie DenBesten in his 1970 blown Chevy Camaro, and Shanze Panunzio in his early model Vega. DenBesten got every one’s attention last year at the Classic on his first qualifying attempt in Top Gun. The dark maroon Camaro went straight up on the back bumper and then slammed back to earth only to go right back up on the bumper again and go to almost the 330 mark before nearly collecting the guard rail. Still, he drove the car out the back door, trying to qualify for the show.

This year in the contest DenBesten didn't disappoint as once again the all-steel Camaro went straight up into the air resting on the back bumper for what seemed like an eternity before the Wyoming driver skillfully brought the car back to the surface nearly a hundred feet from the starting line, to take the hands down prize for highest wheel stand.
