The day before the event (Nov 20) Australia’s largest importer of performance parts, Rocket Industries held an open day at their corporate headquarters that is just a stone’s throw from the drag strip. A large number of olde skool race and street cars were on display with a B-B-Q, a nitro cacklefest and a bunch of bench racing going down in the lead up to the event. Rocket CEO, Graeme Cowin told me that he was overwhelmed by the response to the gathering with son Andrew’s latest ride, a 413 cube TFX powered ’57 Chevrolet nostalgia funny car, being the centre of attention.
