Automatic Pro Mod was the largest field of cars, with twenty cars vying for sixteen spots. It was no surprise to see Ronnie Davis wind up in the top spot with his nitrous ‘63 Corvette. His 4.101 @ 180.57 was slightly better than Halvor Hansen Jr.’s 4.144 @ 177.54. Ray Schuler was right behind at 4.187 @ 174.62. Stephan Stringer was fourth at 4.197 @ 174.35 in his Kentucky based ‘68 Camaro. Jason Carlton would take Top Speed with his turbocharged Hemi-powered ‘04 Celica and end up fifth at 4.203 @ 187.14. Davis made it all the way to the finals where he was up against Stephan Stringer’s brother Tom. When the tree lit up however, Stringer was a bit too early and gave the win to Davis via a red light start. Too bad, because Davis would have been tough to catch with his 4.11 @ 180 blast.

Rob Wells was the man to beat in Outlaw 10.5, as he qualified number one at 4.267 @ 184 08, almost four tenths ahead of Eddie Whitlow’s impressive 6.647 @ 155.87 second place effort. In the final round, Wells kept his 4.20 pace with an impressive win over Brett Newell’s ‘69 Camaro. Wells’ 600ci Ford Mustang completely outclassed Newell, running a 4.27 @ 182 to Wells’ losing 4.73 @ 155.

In Radial Tire action, Mel Nelson drove his ‘02 Camaro into first place qualifying with a 4.584 @ 173.84. Nelson was on his way to win the class when his turbocharged Camaro nosed up in the semis, costing him the race. In the finals, Carlton Thompson’s turbo Mustang won over Chad Opaleski’s ‘66 Chevelle. Thompson was pulling away right as Opaleski’s mount backfired just past the sixty foot mark. Tompsom ran 4.71 @ 163 for the win.

Clint Lonon ran 4.99 twice in eliminations in Real Street X275, a first, and he defeated number one qualifier John Fernandez in the finals.
