There were four AA/FC’s that ran the Chicago-style elimination at the Spring Nationals. Included in the group were Halladay, Mark Worden in the “Twin Town Shaker,” Troy Martin’s tribute “Chi-Town Hustler” and the Bronge’s “Punisher” ’69 Camaro. On his first pass Halladay mistakenly made a 1000-ft pass and didn’t qualify for the final.

“I got down there, saw the yellow flag lifted and opened the parachutes,” said Halladay. He didn’t realize that the yellow flag marked a thousand feet, not the finish line.

Troy Martin’s “Chi-town Hustler” lived up to its history by doing a big honkin’ smoky burnout. It’s worth the price of admission just to see this car do this kind of burnout.
