The finals saw a pair of radically different red supercharged ’68 Camaros come to the line: Ricchia’s swoopy “aero body” ’68 Camaro and Christofel’s more traditional appearing supercharged ’68. It was all Ricchia from the start. The Illinois racer had a .102 RT which might have been bad but Christoffel, snoozing, had a .208. Ricchia rocketed down track to set both ends of the Bryon track record for Pro Mods with a 6.082/230.84 while in the other lane Christoffel shook the tires, lifted and coasted through the lights with a disappointing 13.543/60.74.
