The Chev 358 small block motivated B/GA red Pontiac Firebird of Paul Beauchamp qualified in sixth place with a .478 under the 8.21 index 7.732. He made his way to the final of the Super Stock bracket with Carlo Luisi red lighting against him in the first frame, he then went deeper under his index with a 7.742 to turn back Alex Panagiotdis and then made to the final by cutting a 0.016 light and a bracket like 7.756 to face Ralph Perri. A consistent 7.748 probably would have won but a tardy.101 light was no match for Perri’s .006 and a 0.226 under 7.254.

Mark Hinchelwood’s awesome turboed big block Chev powered T Bucket altered top qualified with a 6.92. In eliminations a combination of opponents red lighting and some good runs saw him made it to the Modified final. The only problem was that the car’s incredible power kept breaking gearboxes with the car unable to front for the final pairing it left opponent Andrew Musgrave to solo to a win.

The high stepping Chev 400 Holden Gemini of Enio Marocco was running in Super Sedan recording 9.3 second times. He managed to go a couple of rounds before being knocked out of competition.
