The ADRL’s Pro Extreme and Pro Extreme Motorcycle classes did see a different winner for each of the national events. Pro Extreme driver Joshua Hernandez got one rousing victory in front of a boisterous hometown crowd and Ashley Owens (Pro Extreme Motorcycle) pulled out the other pro class on Saturday.

The winner of the Pro Extreme Dragpalooza title was Frankie “Madman” Taylor who beat fellow Texas native Gaylen Smith in the PX finals. Taylor recorded a 3.76/200+ mph lap to get his second career win. It was one he won’t soon forget.

“This is a very emotional win. It’s been a great experience,” Taylor said. “To win in our hometown, it’s just crazy. We’ve won a lot of races in Texas, but this is way better. To win here in Houston, it’s great. It’s the best one yet.”

In the final for the first Houston race was an all Texas final between first time in the final round Steve Wiley (above) and Frankie Taylor

For the Saturday race tuners Jim Oddy and his son Dave had the Texas heat figured out and gave their driver, Joshua Hernandez, the most consistent car during Saturday’s Eliminations.

In the race Saturday night Al-Anabi racing’s KH Al Thani ran a great  3.76 but Hernandez went a quicker 3.74 in an epic battle that captured everyone’s attention.
