Although a first round loser, Jari Halinen had cause for celebration as his 5.007 to secure his place in the field represented a new PB for the Finnish driver and the 4.974/292 he ran in a losing effort to Andy Carter’s 4.895 improved things further. Mention should also be made of the 1000 foot clockings of Carter, Erbacher and Poutiainen who all made forays into the 3.9s zone suggesting that some real solid mid four second passes will appear at a track with more stick at the top end. As well as the potential for ET records, Europe might see it’s first all four second field at the Finals.
