FIA Pro Modified

With the resurfaced startline having a distinctly green feel to it at the start of the weekend and in need of some sportsman rubber being laid down on the washed out Thursday, it took a bit of time for the huge FIA Pro Modified field to dial into the track. By the third session things started to come around, as demonstrated in fine style by Urban Johansson with a 6.080 that was close to a tenth better than Niclas Andersson in the second spot. Pro Modified was the only class to complete a round on Sunday, and Ubbe showed the way with a 6.064/235.75 mph victory over Lars Olsson and reset the track record by some distance.

The only qualifier not using a blown combination, Roger Johansson (below) dropped in at number seven with a 6.295 and produced arguably the run of the class with a 6.155/229 in the first round of eliminations to easily cover Mikael Lindahl’s blown Camaro. Whilst demonstrating the quality of the prep that the Mantorp crew had put in to get the track ready for the abbreviated activities on Sunday, Johansson might nab a 6.0 ticket before the year is out.
