Pro Extreme Motorcylce racer Ashley Owens has dominated the ADRL series like no other racer has in the short history of the ADRL. At Norwalk he won both the postponed Dragstock event and the regular Norwalk event. This is the second time this year he has had a “daily double” winning two races in one weekend.

Owens won his class for an unprecedented eighth time this season and in doing so became the first ADRL professional competitor to win five straight national events.

“You never take any of these for granted,” Owens said. “There’s so much that can happen, you just have to enjoy it (winning).”

In getting his second double-win weekend this year, Owens beat fellow racer Terry Schweigert. Owens used a 4.03 coupled with a PXM-best 178.28 miles per hour to beat Schweigert in the finals for the fourth time in 2010.

Owens and his “Fast by Gast” team had to overcome some diversity and they had to remove and replace a engine after wounding one in a second-round win. Replacing the engine didn’t seem to bother Owens as he recorded a 4.09 win for a semifinal victory.
