John Hale from Dallas and Canadian Todd Lesenko will be making their DRO series debut. Also committed to attend are regulars Doc Halladay and Ted Guth from Minnesota.

The series ET and speed record of 5.835/248.48 were set by Romine at KC last year and with at least five cars that have run five-second ET’s the series records could easily fall this weekend.

The Victory Performance Parts Nostalgia Super Stocker championship should be a showdown between Mopar racers Jeff Frees (shown) and Clay Kossuth who are first and second in the points, but there are several other racers who could catch and pass the pair if they should falter.

This event marks the return of Championship drag racing to Kansas City International Raceway that was for years in the ‘70s and ‘80s the premier track for the long departed American Hot Rod Association series.

Former altered racer Anthony Bronge is in his first full season of competition as a Nitro Funny Car racer. The team comes off of a runner-up finish at the World Series of Drag Racing.

With the addition of veteran tuner Jerry Newman the Camaro has become a five-second threat and is in the Top Five in DRO/Lucas Oil Championship points.
