The immaculate ‘54 Chevy Pickup of Ken “Dak” Spears has really come around in local LVMS racing this year, and he was not to be denied by fellow racer Glen Copley and his ‘68 Camaro. Copley caught a rare red light, giving the win to Spears and his brother at 9.625 @ 138.53 mph for the win! Bryan Strange, in his awesome Colorado Springs based Vega, was number one qualifier with a fine 9.602 @ 140.68 mph.

MEAN STREET (index 10.60)

Mean Street was all California in the final race, as Hemet’s Paul Wolfe in his classic ‘67 Mustang swept the honors over young Cody Bennett who is a neighbor from the nearby city of Lake Elsinore, CA. Paul’s 10.618 @ 116.00 mph was good enough to defeat the youngster’s 10.655 @ 124.74 mph. Dan Marciano, doing double duty running in two classes, was number one qualifier at a 10.611 @ 130.22 mph.
