Nowicki (below) was on his game all day as was runner-up Brien Radley and his ’87 Firebird. Radley’s Firebird ran within a hundredth of his dial on every pass he made on raceday running a streak of 10.41-23’s and a final round losing pass of 10.39 on a 10.40 dial. Nowiciki had the bye run in the first round and charged through the rest of the field to meet with the last qualifier in the final.

The final ran in the cool of the evening and on a cooling track neither man had very good RT’s but Nowicki’s .030 light was a thousandth better than Radley’s and he pushed Radley to break-out by just .002 in a great Super Stock final.
