Super Street 10.5W

Mike Murillo has been an absolute terror for the other competitors in the Mickey Thompson Super Street 10.5W this season, as he was able to seal the championship in Indy. Murillo topped the field in qualifying with a 6.61, and then a 6.58 during eliminations to take out Willard Kinzer, who ran his own killer 6.58 in an earlier round. Murillo was able to outrun all of his competitors, making it to the finals once again. When it came to the final round, Murillo squared off against Eric Laferriere, who was running in the 6.70-6.60 range all weekend as well.

When the lights dropped, Murillo launched and was able to speed to victory in a blink of an eye, as Laferriere had traction problems and was forced to abort.

Nostalgia Pro Street

In the NMCA's big tire class, ARP Nostalgia Pro Street, eleven competitors showed up to the 2011 NMCA World Street Finals in Indianapolis, Indiana. The quickest and fastest car in the bunch was the super-clean Camaro of Jeff Colletta – he ran a stellar 7.19 at 192 to qualify. But it was his doppelganger, Jim Jarrett, who was able to get it done in Indy.

In the final, Jarrett faced Skip Baskin's fifth generation Camaro and when the tree fell, although Baskin got the better reaction time, Jarrett was able to get around him at the top end, grabbing the event win with a 7.24, a pass quicker than he had qualified with.

275 Drag Radial

A dominating force in the ATI Performance Products Drag Radial class has been Jason Lee all season, and in Indy it was no different – as he got the number one spot in qualifying with a 7.59 at 183 and won the race - but there were some brand new rides that showed that he may have his work out for him in 2012. In the final, Lee had to race Mike Fratena in his turbocharged machine. Fratena knew he needed to get the holeshot to take out the red rocketship of Lee, but he cut it a tad too close and redlit by -.007.
