Constant and sometimes heavy rains cancelled the Friday test and tune session of the PSCA World Finals held Nov. 4-6 at the Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, Calif. Then Saturday came and the weather was perfect for the 189 cars in attendance to make laps down the track. For bracket classes, the Pacific Street Car Association uses Reaction Time for qualifying, for index classes they go by index, and for heads up they use Elapsed Time.

The first class to run was Mustang Madness.

Dan Marciano	Gary Moreno came out and, with a reaction time of 0.004, he immediately took his '83 Mustang to the number one qualifying position.	Justin Spencer

Dan Marciano had a 0.024 reaction time, putting him in second and Justin Spencer had a 0.031 for third.  Both would later improve to identical 0.017,s keeping them in the second and third positions.
