Pro Mod Meltdown at Houston

The final Pro Mod Meltdown event of the 2011 season for the Texas Automatic Outlaws (TAO) was run at Houston Motorsports Park Saturday November 12. With the fall time change in effect, it assured that all racing would be under the lights, and with evening temperatures in the low 70s, conditions were prime for performance.

The event was to feature a sixteen car field, but only ten entries showed up so the ladder would be an eight car elimination. One competitor that was missed on track was The Twins Performance black Pontiac owned by Roy James. The teams’ complete operation, truck, trailer, race car, and support vehicles, were stolen in Aiken, South Carolina the weekend before after a very successful evening of grudge racing that saw them go undefeated.

You can’t keep racers down though, as the twins Lewayne and Dewayne were on hand helping EJ Hickle tune his blown Willys to nail down the number two position on his first attempt with a 4.23 @ 152.59mph that was also low of the first session.
