The Al-Anabi team had more than a dozen cars and bikes sponsored directly by Al-Anabi or one of the companies Sheikh KH Al-Thani owns.
Two-wheel racer Ashley Owens continued his total domination with an outstanding 4.012 qualifying effort and a walk through the Pro Extreme Motorcycle field for his 11th win.

Bubba Stanton went “coning” in qualifying.
In a David-versus-Goliath scenario, independent drag racer Joey Martin played the role of David to the combined Al-Anabi team’s Goliath. Driving a supercharged Hemi-powered chopped 1955 Nomad that he built in his own shop, Martin took the trophy and the cash from a field of the quickest and fastest eighth-mile racers on the planet.

The number one and two qualifiers met in the finals of Pro Extreme. Martin cruised through his side of the ladder to set up a final round match-up with multi-time winner Jason Hamstra. That race saw Martin leave on Hamstra by a little more than a hundredth of a second with a .037 RT to Hamstra’s .049 effort. Hamstra looked like he might have something for Martin but his car slowed to a 3.767 at just 168.66 mph while Martin charged to the finish line and his first ever ADRL win with a 3.755/200.20 effort in the “Lowmad.” His winning run was his worst ET and slowest speed of Eliminations.
Although the Pro Extreme class had only 17 qualifiers for the 16-car field it was a very impressive qualified field. Oklahoma racer Aaron Wells who is tuned by Darren Mayer on the “bump” with a respectable 3.912 for his first time out with a new car this year. The only driver not to qualify was California racer Bret Williamson who DNQ’d despite a best effort of 3.931/195.48
