PRO NITROUS

Florida racer Tony Christian (back to camera) brought out his car and ran in the Pro Nitrous division.

Twenty-one Pro Nitrous teams were on hand to vie for the 16 qualifying spots available. The qualifying and eliminations were dominated by Al-Anabi teams. Mahana Al-Naemi drove the team’s ’69 Camaro to a mind-bending 3.797/196.30 lap to gain the pole in qualifying. No other nitrous oxide-assisted car could crack the 3.70 barrier.
