The Pro 289 eliminator saw some excellent racing with a wide variety of cars and drivers running hard during the course of the day. As can be seen here Frank Cannistra is any which way but straight, still in this second Chicago Shootout race he took over a tenth of a second leave over his opponent and took the win with an 8.16 from his Mazda RX3. In the third round his opponent, Mouhammed Ibrahim went into a giant wheelstand and Cannistra snuck through for an 8.254 win putting him into the final where he faced reigning Australian champion, Damien McKern. Luckily for Cannistra McKern fell asleep at the wheel and a tardy .393 8.262 was never going to catch a .113 reacted 8.215 for the win.

The Outlaw Sports Bike bracket was one that saw a small field that ran on a Chicago Shootout style format and the Suzuki Hayabusa of Terry Jackson ran a number of nine second times during the day. Though he didn’t feature in the final his sickle with its extended swing arm certainly looked the part.
