The 32 quickest dragsters on the planet raced on Sunday, with Gilbert, Arizona’s Denny Hill in his blown big block turning in a super 6.139, 221.29 mph for the top spot. In the final the K&N dragster of Jonathan Fiello could not make the call, so Arizona’s Jon Bradford in his new blown small block dragster made the single blast at 6.647, 206.04 mph

TOP SPORTSMAN

Ramona’s quickest and fastest dragster and Cobalt driver, Chip Rumis, led the way for the full bodied Top Sportsman cars with fine time of 6.827 at 202.56 mph during the qualifying of the 20 outstanding entries.

Both finalists really stepped up for the TS trophy, as Rick Ackerman in his and his wife Nancy’s ‘89 Beretta cut a .014 RT to Jeff Gillette’s .017 RT and it was anyone’s race at the 1320 but the little yellow Beretta squeezed out a great 7.597 (index 7.59) to Gillette’s fantastic 7.095 (index 7.09) for the win. Gillette only debuted this car at the LVMS point’s race! Nice going guys!
