SUPER STOCK

Steve Wann who won the makeup race from the Fontana rain out, set the pace during qualifying at a 9.671/136.30. In the final, though, it was Henderson, Nev., resident Justin Lamb in the SS/AA Mustang of Roger and Blondie Comstock vs. Phil Mandella’s son Tony.

Mandella got the best RT of the day during eliminations at .003 to Lamb’s great .020 but it was not to be denied for the Camaro and Tony Mandella, at a 9.688 (9.68) at over a close Lamb at 9.205 (9.18)

STOCK

Andrew Durham in his brand new 2011 Dodge Challenger was a number #1 qualifier at 9.567, 139.42 mph but it came down to two longtime veterans, Clark Holroyd’S trusty Chevy Nova and Chad Lodge in his Mopar. Lodge’s 1970 GTX Plymouth (seen here in semifinal action) got to the win light first at a 10.610, 121.47 mph (10.59) while Clark was just a hair off pace at 10.424, 125.87 mph (10.37).  (James Drew photo)

SUPER COMP

Josh Newton ran 8.902 for the #1 spot, but K&N’s Greg Bloutte put his Worthy dragster in the winners circle with an 8.919/177.30 over Aaron Kinard’s close 8.938, 172.77 mph. Greg, who works for K&N, was extremely happy in the winners circle with the boss, Steve Williams.  (Tim Marshall photo)

SUPER GAS

Super Gas was all Corvettes. Anthony Galati from Lake Havasu, Ariz., was #1 qualifier at 9.902. Then the final produced a pair of Vettes with the 1966 version of Val Torres narrowly defeating Darryl Mitchell’s 2003 model. Torres was 9.927 at 155.95 mph over Mitchell’s close 9.946/164.86.

SUPER STREET

Justin Renoli’s slick looking 1966 El Camino set the pace in Super Street, with a perfect 10.900. He went some rounds too but it was third generation driver Nick Downing in the family Plymouth Arrow (that all three Downings have driven to victories) winning easily when Bob Richmond’s 1950 Ford broke right off the starting line. Downing ran a break out 10.895 at 133.29 mph.  (Tim Marshall photo)

HARLEY DAVIDSON MOTORCYLE

After being the quick qualifier on a run with a perfect Reaction Time, Tom Melden, on his ‘93 Suzuki, blasted out a 8.455 at 155.09 mph to narrowly defeat Jim Bowling's 9.173 at 145.89 mph.
