Lynch begins Unleashed season with win

The first Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed event of 2011 took place on May 6-7 at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil, Ga. This celebration of American horsepower featured heads-up style drag racing with a total of nine different classes taking to the all-concrete track.

Outlaw 10.5 

Tim Lynch (.043, 4.384, 191.70) defeated Danny Lowery (.040, 5.87, 100.14). Lynch was low qualifier at 4.235 with Lowery being number two at 4.27.  Lynch’s final round time was low elapsed time of eliminations and top speed of the event. Lynch also topped 190 mph in the semifinals.

Number-two qualifier Kevin Fiscus (shown) defeated number-one qualifier Steve Jackson with low elapsed time of eliminations 4.491 at 178.50 to the losing 4.678 at 156. Jackson’s qualifying time was 4.439.
