Right off the trailer, former TF record holder Dennis Rieck in the Hammer down small block Chevy on nitro set the pace in Friday night qualifying with a Kingman-Fast Guys Sand Drag ET record 2.374/140.88 lap. Rieck, from the San Diego, Calif., area, kept the number one spot throughout the qualifying.
