MSA Pro Modified

MSA Pro Modified saw low qualifier (at 6.157s) and reigning champion Andy Robinson drop out in the first round of eliminations after an oil leak developed on a burnout and that pretty much set the pattern for the rest of eliminations. Wayne Nicholson handed Graham Ellis a bye when the Lucky Devil Corvette lost fire on the burnout prior to their first round match up; Ellis producing a 6.272s/221.10 on the solo. Roger Moore bested Jean Dulamon with a massive holeshot and a 6.886s/203.50 to a 6.702s/219.

Both Moore and Ellis should have progressed from what were to be uncontested semifinal rounds, but Ellis forfeited his spot in the final when a small leak from the Jackhammer Barracuda left fluid on the track on the burnout. This handed the event win to Moore and the Shakespeare Engineering Dodge Viper team and they celebrated their first MSA event win with a 6.732s/207mph (new PB) pass in the semifinals and an easy launch and click off to take an early points lead in the 2011 championship.

Nostalgia Fuel Altered Association

After a less than auspicious start to 2010 when the car ended up in the barrier, veteran Gary Page took Lawrie Gatehouse’s Chaos Fuel Altered to it’s first Nostalgia Fuel Altered Association event with a 6.268s/223.30 over Adam Gleadow. The refurbishment of the Chaos car by FGR and the tune up guidance provided by Gordon Smith’s crew chief Dave Bryant clearly paying dividends.
