Showcased was the Bill Porterfield-owned supercharged 1969 Camaro Funny Car of Dick Harrell, with his crew occasionally firing up the engine on nitromethane. During warm-up cackles strapped into the roll cage, were Traci Hrudka of the Quarter Mile Foundation/Project 1320, and “The Voice of Drag Racing,” Jon Lundberg respectively.  (Rick Rzepka photo)

Milan Dragway's special guest, Lundberg served several different roles: as DD historian (he was their track announcer from 1962-1972,) on the P.A., and mostly at the Legends Stage. Many old friends of Lundberg came to the Legends Area to greet him, as they wove tales of drag racing lore from decades past. His highly insightful interviews also featured such notables as Porterfield, Roger Lindamood, Milt Schornack, Dave Rockwell and Pete McNicholl of the original Ramchargers.
