John Hale drove the Mike Burkhart tribute Camaro at Kennedale. He also drives the “Nitro Boss” Mustang AA/FC.

Hale laid down a full eighth mile burnout as action continued, this time he was on a solo pass after unfortunate and unexpected carnage kept both the “Blue Max” and “Mexican Revolution” AA Funny Cars from returning for their second passes. Hale launched hard and kept the candles lit through the traps, lighting up the boards with a 4.03 at 185 mph to the crowds delight.

Racing continued non-stop through the night as the jets made their last trip to the staging lanes. McCart lit the sky as the track lights were turned off for his final pass in the “Glory Days” jet dragster and fireworks erupted from the top end as he went through the traps.

The Southwest Junior Fuel Association crowned Richard Brady as the event winner and Chris Stouffer notched his second win in a row with the Texas Blown Fuel Association as the 9th Annual B.H.R.A. Nationals came to an end.

Fans safely made their exit and race teams returned to the pits to load their machines and head for home. An outstanding exhibition by all involved made the 2011 edition of the B.H.R.A. Nationals one to remember. A special thanks goes out to everyone including staff, race crews and drivers who battled the triple-digit heat to give the spectators a show they won’t soon forget.

Mark your calendars for the first Friday in August of 2012 and see the surely incredible line-up for the 10th Annual B.H.R.A. Nationals in person!
