Next up was #1 Qualifier was John Scialpi in the “Red Line Oil” ‘57 Chevrolet versus the black turbocharged Corvette of Ed Thornton. Scialpi had trouble at the 100 ft mark and slowed, giving the win to the popular ‘63 Corvette. In the finals, Ed Thornton was the victor, as Mike Maggio was guilty of running over the last MPH light and crossing the centerline.

In the first round of Outlaw 10.5, #1 qualifier was Ron Snavely with a 6.874. He was paired off with D. Bevers, who broke on the line. Ron Weems, who qualified #2 with a 6.897 run, ran an identical 6.897 to defeat F. Yee (9.24). Talk about consistency!

This set up a great final that, sadly, was decided on the starting line as Weems red lighted the tree, giving the win to the turbocharged Mustang of Ron Snavely.
