Hot Street always bring excitement to the line with their high-winding small-blocks. The top-half of the field was quite tight, with the top four cars were only separated by six hundredths of a second. The top spot went to Charlie Booze, Jr. with a stellar 8.435 at over 163 miles per hour. Booze cut through his side of the ladder with a string of stout 8.40 passes. On the other side of the ladder, Robbie Blankenship made his way through the field to meet Booze in the final. As the tree came down on the pair of champions, Booze got the holeshot, but Blankenship powered around Boose and took the win light, 8.39 to 8.44, for the event win and the 2011 Hot Street championship.

In Drag Radial, Sean Lyon took the top honors with a record-breaking 7.52 at 189 mph, putting him over a tenth-of-a-second ahead of his nearest opponent, Brad Medlock. As eliminations rolled around, there were two familiar faces cutting through the field. On the way to the final round, Lyon carded the quickest pass in class history, an 8.477. On the other side of the ladder was Jason Lee. As the tree dropped on the pair in the final round, Lee was away first, but slowed on the top end, his 7.80 posing no threat to Lyon’s 7.51, earning Lyon the event win. That win tied Lee and Lyon for the points championship, with the nod going to Lee in the tiebreaker procedures for having attended more events, making Lee the 2011 Drag Radial champion.

Real Street saw serious excitement in qualifying and Bruce Hemminger not only took the top spot in the seven-car field with an astounding 9.166-second pass, but also reset the ET record and was the quickest pass in the history of the class. Come eliminations, Hemminger lost to Jay Marr in the semis, but the appearance clinched the Real Street Championship for Hemminger. On the other side of the ladder, Jim Breese advanced through to field to meet Marr in the final. Marr lead stripe to stripe to take home the win in Real Street.

Pure Street had the largest field of the season at this event, with eleven drivers vying for the winner’s circle. Coming out a tenth ahead of the rest of the field was Shawn Johnson, with a 9.986-second blast down the Beech Bend quarter-mile. However, at the conclusion of qualifying, Brandon Alsept secured the 2011 season championship. As Sunday’s eliminations progressed, Johnson worked his way through one side of the ladder, while Farmer Steve Gifford did the same on the other side of the ladder. The pair met in the final round, where Gifford redlit his shot at the winner’s circle away, giving Johnson the win.
