2010 champion Clay Kossuth’s “Max Attack” lines up with many of the other Mopars that dominate the NSS series in the pits at the Cordova Dragway Park’s World Series of Drag Racing.

To my surprise, Friday morning I see Dan’s trailer roll through the gate with the red Pontiac ready to do battle! Beale and car owner Dan Driscoll had worked all day and night installing another power plant.
The battle for the championship was on!

The drama continued as in the third round of NSS competition, both
Corda and Beale lost and remained tied for the championship. The decision was made that they would settle it on the track at the World Series.

As if that wasn't enough drama, two brothers, Tim and Jeff Frees, were battling for third and fourth place in the NSS Championship, and each advanced to the final round. Their meeting in the finals would determine the race winner and third and fourth place in the points chase.

The two brothers pulled to the line in front of the standing room only crowd, the lights turned green, and at the end of the quarter mile the victor was Tim Frees and his Max Wedge-powered 1963 wagon.
